Carpenter

We are looking to add another skilled and experienced Carpenter to our team at First Capital Construction. The position of Carpenter is a full time, year round position. Must have the ability to work independently or as part of team on residential and commercial projects.

Hours

  • FT (40+), Permanent – Monday to Friday

Tasks

  • New home construction
  • Renovations and repairs to existing buildings
  • Rough and finish carpentry
  • Window and door installs
  • Flooring installation
  • Cabinet installation
  • Drywall installation and repair experience an asset

Working Conditions

  • This is a permanent, full time, year-round position
  • Outdoor and indoor work sites
  • Heavy lifting may be required
  • Wage will be based on experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Prior experience in construction, framing and installation of roof systems
  • Can read and interpret construction plans including blueprints, layouts, technical details and drawings
  • Has basic hand tools, tool belt and safety footwear
  • Driver’s License required

Snow Removal – Loader/Backhoe Operator

This winter we are looking for a team of reliable and enthusiastic individuals to assist with our winter snow maintenance and removal. This position requires the operation of a CAT Loader and plow.

Hours

  • Flexible and on call (days, nights, weekends)
  • Hours will be dependent on weather conditions.
  • Start Immediately until April

Tasks

  • Removal of snow from parking areas and lanes using CAT 914 Loader/CAT 420F Backhoe
  • Work in a professional and efficient manner
  • Follow and maintain all safety policies and procedures

Working Conditions

  • Ability to arrive on time at meeting location for all shifts
  • This is an outdoor position weather appropriate clothing is required
  • Wages will be based on experience

Qualifications & Requirements

  • CAT heavy equipment operating experience required
  • Prior snow plowing experience preferred
  • Driver’s license required

Skilled General Labourer with Snow Shovelling (Permanent Position)

The position of Skilled General Labourer consists of performing any combination of tasks required on residential and commercial construction sites as assigned by the site supervisor. This position will also require snow shoveling during weather events.

Hours

  • Monday to Friday as needed
  • Weekends, evenings and nights as needed for snow shoveling

Tasks

  • General labour tasks (Lifting, cutting, assisting carpenters)
  • Snow shoveling
  • Site clean up
  • Follow site and company mandated safety procedures and policies

  • Outdoor and indoor working sites
  • Heavy lifting required
  • Wage will be based on experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Drivers License is required
  • Previous construction knowledge and experience preferred
  • Safety footwear required
